Year 9 is the time to begin thinking seriously about your life in the future and what you may want to go on and study after school.
The options process allows you to select subjects that you either want/need for life after school or subjects that you like. A good balance is key to enjoying your studies. Taking time to discuss your options at home and at school with your friends and staff is crucial, as you will not be able to change your subjects once year 10 starts.
It is also important for you to understand that the timetable is completed once you have handed in you options form —therefore decisions about which subjects are blocked together, and which subjects run, are made based on your decisions.
There are subjects on offer which you may not have studied before and if you have, the qualifications and what they entail may have changed since last year. The booklets below aim to give you all of the information you may need to make the right choices.
