The students are grateful to both Resonate Music Hub and Liverpool Cultural Education Partnership for their additional funding contribution to the development of ‘The De La Salle Community Choir’. The choir have been pro-active in developing singing and playing musical instruments, as well as spreading their talents throughout our community. They are central to a range of fundraising activities for ‘Child Poverty’ and the academy also has a strong focus on our students teaching the ukulele in local primary schools.
‘Inspiring students; breaking boundaries’ is our mission at the academy, and the choir have focused on the idea of improving well-being and self-confidence through engagement with music. The additional opportunities for team work, developing musical skills in terms of vocal training and learning instruments is also central to this work.
Our students have developed a great sense of understanding of their individual and team responsibility in making a positive contribution to the wider community; raising the profile of singing and playing musical instruments to encourage and inspire others and to improve their skills and well-being.
Listen to what some of our students have to say about the impact that joining the choir has had upon themselves.
